The Altar

Maya/Photoshop/UDK/SpeedTree

The altar was thought when I was following some ZBrush basics tutorials on modelling and sculpting rocks, and decided to make myself a Stone Henge! I then spent quite a lot of time modelling the rest of the environment, with pretty much everything made in Maya, except for the trees, which were made with the free SpeedTree version coming with UDK.

 

The biggest tasks were, firstly the sky shader, for which, honestly, I had to go through a tutorial, but then tweaked it accordingly to my needs. Another task was to set lighting and post process volumes for about 5 different times of the day cycle, including Dawn, Morning, Afternoon, Dusk and Night, and then toggling between them on the fly.

The terrain is made with UDK terrain tool. Modly all models have LODs.
